An ideal prothesis should not caweatraumaiie lesion in other words. Ft should not irritate the mucosa! tissue. The traumas resulted from prothesis. Can cause severe pain in patients with low pain thercshold. The patients whose prothesis caused a Lrauma and severe pain can not eat, swallow, and even speak in some circumstances- However, some patients do not complain of pain although their prothesis are traumatic and there is wide ulcerations in the oraî mucosa

Gencide iyi yapılmış bir protezin travma yapmaması başka bir deyimle mukozayı irritc etmemesi gerekir Ağrı eşiği düşük olan hastalarda protez travmaları büyük acılara sebep olabilir. Protezi travma yapan, canı yanan bir hastanın yemek yiyebilmesi, y utkun abi İme si ve hatta konuşabilmeği bile bazı durumlarda mümkün olmaz. Buna karşılık bazı hastalar ise protezlerinin bir hayli travma yapmasına vc mukozada geniş ülserasyonlar oluşmasına karşın büyük bir ağrıdan şikayet etmezler.
