The most effective method in the protection of metallic structures ( bridge, viaduct, industrial transportation lines...) especially transport and distribution systems ( water distributing network, natural gas network, petrol transportation, water transportation, gas transportation...) from corrosion is external current sourced cathodic protection. The faults that occur in the basic components of external current sourced cathodic protection systems (Trafo-Rectifier, anode and anode channel) cannot be known or even if they can be known, this fault cannot be improved in time because of the reasons such as transportation and cost. In the researches made in the raw petrol transportation pipe lines of BOTAS (Pipe Lines and Petrol Transportation A.Ş.), it has been seen that there are faults in many TR units and these cannot be improved. It is certain that these will cause important accidents with loss of property and life, not today, but in the future. Such reasons as pipe lines spreading in a wide area (Figure 1) , climate conditions, lack of staff and device can be listed as the reasons of their not been able to be improved. In this work, BOTAS pipe lines have been examined and solutions for deficiencies seen have been suggested.

Metalik yapıların (köprü, viyadük, raylı taşıma hatları…) özellikle dağıtım ve taşıma sistemlerinin (su dağıtım şebekesi, doğalgaz şebekesi, petrol taşımacılığı, su taşımacılığı, gaz taşımacılığı…) korozyondan korunmasında en etkili yöntem dış akım kaynaklı katodik korumadır. Dış akım kaynaklı katodik koruma sistemlerinin temel elemanlarında (Trafo-Redresör, anot ve anot yatağı) meydana gelen arızalardan maalesef haberdar olunamamakta veya haberdar olunsa bile ulaşım ve maliyet gibi sebeplerden bu arıza zamanında giderilememektedir. BOTAŞ (Boru Hatları ile Petrol Taşıma A.Ş.) ham petrol taşıma boru hatlarında yapılan incelemelerde birçok TR ünitesinde arızalar bulunduğu ve bunların giderilemediği görülmüştür. Bunların şu anda olmasa bile gelecekte önemli mal ve can kayıplı kazalara sebep olacağı kesindir. Bu sorunların giderilememesinin sebebi olarak boru hatlarının çok geniş alana yayılmış olması (Şekil 1.), iklim şartları, eleman ve araç yetersizliği gibi sebepler sayılabilir. Bu çalışmada BOTAŞ boru hatları incelenmiş ve görülen eksiklere yönelik çözümler önerilmiştir.
