Abstract (2. Language):
Allelopathy is the effect of chemicals released by one plant species on growth and establishment of nearby plant species. Studies on allelopathy aren't satisfactory in Turkey. There are few studies about allelopathy in the forestry although there have been some studies on agriculture. In this study, chemical compounds of volatile oil achieved from fruit of Crimean juniper (Juniperus excelsa Bieb.) and leaves of Turkish plateau oregano an endemic species for sütçüler district (Origanum minutiflorum O. Schwarz et. P.H. Davis) with water distillation determined by GC/MS. Chemical effects of this volatile oil on the germination of Anatolian Black pine were determined by flowerpot tests in the laboratory. As GS/MS analysis, it was fixed that main compounds of thyme oil were a-Pinene (1,9%), a- Terpinene (0,1%), y- Terpinene (6,2%), Thymol (4,0%), p-cymene (2,1%), Carvacrol (83,9%), and also main compounds of juniper oil were a-Pinene (89,73%), P-Pinene (2,01%), Myrcene (2,98%), Limonene (0,98%), Terpinene (0,72%), Terpineolene (0,91%), Germacrene-D (0,61%), Cedrol (1,43%). Also, It occurs that in parallel concentration of volatile oil both juniper and thyme reduce germination of Anatolian Black pine.
