The SMEs which hold an important role in the economy of Turkey are facing various difficulties in international trade within the frame of the world conditions, keeping up with the competitiveness con¬ditions which are getting difficult against developed countries and some developing countries and in the country, and at the point of sustaining the increase of the power of competitive and competitiveness. For this purpose, Clustering is generally analyzed in the study. This paper aims, on the one hand, to help and guide the works done to increase the competitiveness of SMEs, whereas on the other hand to let the rese¬archers get involved with clustering works and in the point of creating awareness, to achieve a comprehen¬sive literature work of what can be done with clustering in Turkey and in the world..

Türkiye ekonomisinde önemli bir yeri olan KOBİ'ler günümüzde değişen dünya koşuları çerçevesinde uluslararası ticarette ülke içinde ve gelişmiş ve bazı gelişmekte olan ülkelere karşı giderek zorlaşan rekabet koşullarına ayak uydurabilme, rekabet gücünü artırma ve rekabet edebilirliği sürdürebilme noktasında çeşitli sorunlar yaşamaktadırlar. Bu amaçla bu sorunların aşılmasında önemli bir etkisi olan 'Kümelenme' (Clustering) konusu incelenmiştir. Bir yandan kümelenme çalışmaları yapacak araştırmacılara, diğer yandan da KOBİ'lerin rekabet güçlerinin artırılabilmesi için yapılacak çalışmalarda yardımcı ve yol gösterici olması amaçlanan çalışmada, bir farkındalık yaratması noktasında, dünyada ve Türkiye'de kümelenme ile ilgili neler yapıldığına dair geniş bir literatür çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir.
