The Examination of the 9th Grade Students Attitudes towards the Assignment
Given in Biology Lesson in terms of Different Variables

The purpose of this research is to examine the attitudes of 9th grade students towards the
assignments given in biology lesson in terms of different variables. The study of the validity
and reliability of the survey which consists of 20 items was done by the researcher and
Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient was calculated as 0,90. After the research, a significant
difference was found according to the students’ gender, the position of having their own
rooms, the position of the students’ financial support to their families’ monthly income states
and with how many students they share their study area. On the other hand, a significant
difference was not found according to the variable of the students’ families’ monthly income.
In addition to these; the 9th grade students are in a positive attitude towards biology lessons’
home works. But we have concluded that, by the help of the reformation of students’
intrafamilial physical structure, the teachers will behave more sensitive about home works,
pay attention to students and control the home works regularly also the evaluation of the
students’ works will develop the students’ attitudes positively towards biology lessons’ home
works.

Bu araştırmanın amacı 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin Biyoloji derslerinde verilen ev ödevleri
hakkındaki tutumlarını farklı değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Araştırmada kullanılan ve
20 maddeden oluşan anketin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması araştırmacı tarafından yapılarak
Cronbach Alpha iç güvenirlik katsayısı 0,90 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda
öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerine, kendilerine ait oda durumuna, ailelerine maddi konularda yardımcı
olma durumuna ve ders çalışma alanlarını başkalarıyla paylaşma durumu açısından anlamlı
bir farklılık bulunurken, ailenin aylık gelir durumuna göre ise anlamlı bir farklılık
bulunmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin biyoloji dersi ev
ödevlerine karşı olumlu bir tutum içerisinde oldukları fakat öğrencilerin aile içi fiziki
koşullarında yapılacak olan iyileştirmelerle birlikte öğretmenlerin ev ödevleri konusunda daha
duyarlı davranarak öğrencileri önemsemesinin ve ev ödevlerini düzenli kontrol ederek
öğrencilerin çalışmalarını değerlendirmesinin, öğrencilerin biyoloji dersi ev ödevlerine karşı
tutumlarının olumlu yönde gelişeceği sonucuna varılmıştır.
