Abstract (2. Language):
"Defense is of much more importance than opulence" Adam Smith (Wealth of Nations) In this study we employ the panel data testing procedure to test causal effect between military expenditure and economic growth in OECD member countries from the year 1991 to 2008. Ampirically, our results suggest that military spendings has negative effects on economic growth. In this study initially unit root analysis has been made and following this step panel cointegration test has been made. Fınally ındependent variables's one lagged was added to model ın order to debug the model from autocorrelatin according to the Durbin-Watson Statistics.
