School bullying is a factor that affects school climate and students' development in a negative way. Therefore, there is a need to shed light on the various aspects of individualistic and social characteristics of this phenomenon in order to carry out some prevention or intervention work in an effective way. The aim of the study is to determine the approaches of coping with stress of adolescents who are in variying statuses of bullying and to analyze their approaches according to gender and class level. The research is a survey study. The participants of the study are a total of584 adolescents (333 females and 251 males) from 9th, 10th and 11th classes. The Reorganized Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire and the Ways of Coping with Stress Scale have been used to collect the data. Descriptive Statistics, One-Way Variance Analysis, the 2x4x5 (gender x statuses of bullying x coping strategies) and 3x4x5 (class level x statuses of bullying x coping strategies) ANOVA techniques have been used to analyze the data. The findings of the study suggest that the percentage of the adolescents that are involved in bullying is 27.23%. Significant differences have been observed related to the adolescents' - in varying bullying statuses - use of approaches of self-confidence, optimism, helplessnes and submission. No significant difference has been found in terms of seeking social support approach. Although, some differences have been observed among the averages in multi-variance analyses in terms of coping approaches according to gender and class level, no significant difference has been found at the .05 level. The findings have been discussed based on some other findings in the literature.

Okulda zorbalık okul iklimini ve öğrencilerin gelişimini olumsuz yönde etkileyici bir etkendir. Bu bakımdan etkili bir şekilde önleme ya da müdahale çalışmaları yapılabilmesi için bu olgunun bireysel ve sosyal özelliklerinin farklı yönleri ile aydınlatılmasına gereksinim vardır. Bu çalışmada farklı zorbalık statülerindeki ergenlerin, baş etme yaklaşımlarının belirlenmesi, cinsiyete ve sınıf düzeylerine göre başetme yaklaşımlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları 9.10. ve 11. sınıf düzeylerinden toplam 584 (333 kız, 251 erkek) ergenden oluşmaktadır. Verilerinin toplanmasında Yeniden Düzenlenmiş Olweus Zorba/Kurban Anketi (YDZ/KA) ve Stresle Başaçıkma Tarzları Ölçeği (SBTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, betimsel istatistik, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi, 2x4x5 (cinsiyet x farklı zorbalık statüleri x baş etme stratejileri) ile 3x4x5 (sınıf düzeyi x farklı zorbalık statüleri x başetme stratejileri) faktörlü ANOVA teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular zorbalık davranışlarında yer alan ergenlerin % 27,23 oranında olduğunu göstermiştir. Farklı zorbalık statülerindeki ergenlerin kendine güvenli, iyimser, çaresiz ve boyun eğici başetme yaklaşımlarını kullanımları yönünden anlamlı farklılıklar gözlenmiştir. Sosyal destek arama yaklaşımında anlamlı fark olmadığı bulunmuştur. Cinsiyete ve sınıf düzeyine göre başetme yaklaşımlarının incelendiği çoklu varyans analizlerinde ortalamalar arasında farklar gözlense de anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmamıştır (p>.05). Araştırma bulguları literatürdeki başka bulgulara dayanarak tartışılmıştır.
