Abstract (2. Language):
It has been proposed an UV-VIS spectrophotometric method for copper determination. The methods is
based upon formation the copper – 8-hydroxyquinoline complex in a sodium dodecil sulphate (SDS) micellar
medium and measurment of absorbance of the complex at 399 nm. The critical parameters of absorbans of the
complex hence the method were optimized such as surfactant concentration, ligant concentration and pH. The molar
absorptivity of the complex was 3,4 103 Lmol-1cm-1 at the optimum pH 5,30. The Sandell’s sensivity, limit of
dedection, limit of quantitation and dynamic range were 1,8.10-2 μg /cm2, 0,2 μg/mL, 0,8 μg/mL, 0,8-6,6 μg/mL
respectively. The methods was applied for determination of copper in brass alloy with about 2,3 % RSD and about 4
% relative error.
