The aim of this study is to evaluate differentiation of materialist tendencies with respect to demographic characteristics. The survey is applied to 308 participants in Balıkesir province center. Most important constraint on the study is the probability of being self monitoring considering the participants. According to evidences, meaningful differentiations are observed in many statements such as age, gender, education level, income level and marital status being at the top. With the results of the study, it is expected to contribute to the literature and give new ideas to the academicians of marketing science and marketing managers

Bu araştırmanın amacı, materyalist eğilimlerin demografik özellikler itibari ile farklılıklarını değerlendirmektir. Balıkesir il merkezinde, toplamda 308 katılımcıya anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın en önemli sınırlılığı, katılımcıların kendilerini kurgulamış olma ihtimalidir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre medeni durum başta olmak üzere yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim ve gelir düzeyi itibari ile pek çok ifadede anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarının, literatüre katkı sağlaması ve mevcut durum hakkında pazarlama akademisyenleri ile yöneticilerine fikir vermesi umulmaktadır.
