Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
This study is an effort to determine the factors that play a role in making selections for recruitment of university students. The research was conducted in two phases. During the first phase, the students were asked to indicated the employers they wished to work after graduation. Each of the reasons indicated to reflect their preferences for working for a certain employer were extensively inquired by using an inductive approach. Data attained were gathered by following a systematic process in the direction of the one proposed by Patton (1990) and Breaughn (1983, 1992) and a scale containing 5 factors was developed. In the second phase, the survey form developed in the first phase was forwarded to about 188.523 students in 87 different universities in Turkey by e-mail and 19.894 useable survey forms were gathered. At the end of the research, it was determined that, the students took into consideration such factors as career possibilities/working conditions, relative identification, product/services, organizational culture and competition position, at the time of making decisions about selection of an employer. Of these, competition position and career possibilities / working conditions were fundamental determinates. But, it was observed that, the two factors were respectively followed, by the factors the product/services, the organizational culture and the visual identity. Findings attained were made subject of assessments in the study, under the light of knowledge, gained from the previously conducted research works as well.
