In this study,Ibn Khaldun’s views on education and teaching are explained in the context of his human thought.
Most of his opinions on education and teaching still preserve their validity. Above his age, Ibn Khaldun
approached to social events and institutions as a modern sociologist. He interpreted institutions such as
politics,economic,religious and education as a social life (umran) and dealt with them as a phenomenon

Bu çalışmada İbn Haldun’un insan düşüncesi bağlamında eğitim – öğretim hakkındaki görüşleri anlatılmaya
çalışılmıştır. Onun eğitim – öğretim hakkındaki görüşlerinin çoğu günümüzde hala geçerliliğini korumaktadır. İbn
Haldun, çağını aşan bir şekilde toplumsal olaylara ve kurumlara modern bir sosyolog gibi yaklaşmıştır. O,
siyaset, ekonomi, din ve eğitim gibi kurumları “umranın tabii birer olayı” olarak yorumlamış ve birer olgu olarak
ele almıştır.
