In the archival literature we do not usually come across the studies about researchers of archives. But the education of researchers is important when it is about the use of archival material that has historical value. Researchers will have detailed information on the archives and also they will be sensitive on archvival material as much as an archivist with education programmes. In this way the dilemma of protecting or letting the researchers to use archival material can partially be solved.
In this study entitled ‘Researcher Education Programmes in Archives: Process of Design and Implementation’ a general framework and road map of a researcher education programme that should ideally be implemented in archives is provided. As it stands researcher education programmes are not given much coverage in literature. This process is a detailed one that not only covers topics of a technical nature that should be taken into account but also aims to encourage an appreciation of the strategic importance of archival materials from a national and future sensational perspective

Arşivcilik literatüründe araştırmacıyı konu alan çok fazla çalışma ile karşılaşmamaktayız. Ancak özellikle tarihi değeri olan arşiv malzemesinin kullanımı söz konusu olduğunda arşiv araştırmacısının eğitimi unsuru önem kazanmaktadır. Araştırmacıların arşivler ile ilgili detaylı bilgi sahibi olması ve arşivlerde malzeme üzerinde çalışma yaparken bir arşivci kadar hassasiyet gösterebilmesi eğitim programları ile mümkün olabilecektir. Böylelikle arşivcilerin değerli arşiv malzemesinin korunması ve kullandırılması arasında yaşadıkları ikilem de kısmen çözülebilecektir.
“Arşivlerde Araştırmacı Eğitimi Programları: Tasarım ve Uygulama Süreci” başlıklı bu çalışmada arşivcilik ve eğitim literatüründe çok fazla üzerinde durulmayan genelde tüm bilgi merkezlerinde özelde ise arşivlerde uygulanması gereken bir araştırmacı eğitim programının genel çerçevesi çizilmekte ve uygulama yol haritası ortaya konulmaktadır. Bu süreç araştırmacılara arşivlerdeki malzemenin ülkenin ve insanlığın geleceği açısından stratejik öneminin aşılanması ve malzeme üzerinde çalışırken dikkat edilmesi gereken teknik konuları da içeren detaylı bir süreçtir.
