Abstract (2. Language): 
The aim of this study is to determine teachers’ views towards the significance of cooperative learning in foreign language teaching. As a survey method, a sample of 72 teachers is selected from the population of 120 teachers working at primary and secondary schools of Elazığ during 2011-2012 academic year. As the data collection instrument, a questionnaire developed by the researcher in the light of experts’ views is used. In the analysis of the data, SPSS Program is applied and percentage and frequency values are made use of. The findings show that cooperative learning promotes interactive and communicative environments and develops socialization. Thus, it can be suggested that such a useful method should be used more spread and as a part of foreign curriculum.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, işbirlikli öğrenmenin yabancı dil öğretimindeki önemine ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada tarama yöntemi kullanılarak evreni, 2011-2012 öğretim yılında Elazığ merkezdeki ilköğretim okullarının birinci ve ikinci kademesinde görev yapan 120 öğretmen; örneklemi ise bunlar arasından 72 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından uzman görüşleri ışığında hazırlanan anket kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS Programı uygulanarak % ve f değerlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları incelendiğinde, işbirlikli öğrenmenin öğrencileri etkileşim ve iletişime yönlendirdiği ve sosyal gelişimi sağladığı anlaşılmaktadır. Öğrenme açısından bu derece yararları olan işbirlikli yöntemin yabancı dil öğretiminde daha yaygın ve öğretim programının bir parçası olarak kullanılması önerilebilir.
