OF VOCATIONAL COURSES IN TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS

The purpose of this study is to understand the effectiveness of vocational courses in technical and vocational
high school, to evaluate the factors which effect vocational courses teachers, students and the opinions of
managers, teachers and students and to help vocational courses in technical and vocational high school to
reach a sustainable structure.
A non-probability sampling was used. 7 managers, 5 vocational courses teachers and 10 students who were
volunteers to participate in the research in a technical and vocational school located in the city centre of
Antalya were chosen as the sample. While choosing the sample, selecting one manager, teachers and students
from each branch was one of the quotas.
A qualitative approach was selected. Semi-structured interviews were used. Data were collected from April,
2014 -May, 2014. Interviews lasting 60-80 minutes were recorded then classified.
The results of the study included the effectiveness of vocational courses in technical and vocational high
school, the factors which effect vocational courses managers, teachers, students, problems on vocational
courses, suggestions for solutions to these problems.

Araştırmanın amacı, teknik ve meslek liselerinde meslek derslerinin etkinliğini araştırmak, yönetici, öğretmen,
öğrencileri etkileyen faktörleri, meslek dersine ilişkin sorunların analizine yönelik yönetici, meslek dersi
öğretmeni, öğrencilerin görüşlerini değerlendirmek, teknik ve meslek liselerindeki meslek dersi öğretiminin,
etkili yapıya kavuşturulmasına yardımcı olabilmektir.
Araştırmada nitel araştırmada kullanılan amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem tekniği
kullanılmıştır. Antalya merkez mesleki ve teknik Anadolu liselerinden birinde gönüllü olan 1 müdür, 1 müdür
yardımcısı, 5 bölüm şefi, 5 teknik öğretmen, 10 öğrenci örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Örneklem seçilirken mevcut
her bölümden yönetici, öğretmen, öğrencilerin seçimine dikkat edilmiştir.
Bu çalışma olgu bilim desenli nitel bir araştırmadır. Araştırma verileri Nisan 2014-Mayıs 2014 boyunca
toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın veri toplama tekniği bireysel görüşme ve doküman analizidir. Görüşmelerde yarı
yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. 60-80 dakikalık görüşmeler kaydedilip, kategorilere ayrılmıştır.
Araştırma sonuçları, teknik ve meslek liselerinde, meslek derslerinin etkinliğini, yönetici, meslek dersi
öğretmeni, öğrencileri etkileyen faktörleri, meslek dersine ilişkin sorunları, sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerini
içermektedir.
