Abstract (2. Language):
While human beings, as a part of nature, form their life settings, they build themselves through different
doctrines and beliefs from the life/culture they are involved. Human beings, as a part of society, gain code of
ethics making their own existence meaningful in the course of time. Music is also an effective educational tool
beyond being an absolute listening tool to shape these value patterns. Music creates some ethical and
nonethical emotions on the minds and hearts directly or indirectly by appealing to both inner worlds and life
sense of individuals, and more importantly it serves to strengthen the permanent conscience and moral
principles in human nature. BarışManço, as a person dedicating his life to Turkish national culture, filled an
important gap in Turkish society and music with bothhis artistic identity and, musical rendering and expression
style. He brought whizz-kids of a period up and addressed all the world and his wife through the music and
television programs he made. Virtuous human model in his didactic songs are crafted masterfully in his songs
that will never lose their significance. This paper will examinethe universal moral sentiment the artist desires to
deliver to and teach to society with his works by pointing educational and doctrinal elements of BarışManço’s
songs up. The method of the study is comprised of the findings obtained from written and visual resources. 5 of
the artist’s songs in totalare examined in this context.

Doğanın bir parçası olan insan kendi yaşam evrenini oluştururken hayatın/kültürün içerisinden farklı öğretilerle
ve inançlarla kendini inşa eder. İnsan kendi varoluşunu anlamlı kılacak ahlaki değer yargılarını toplumun bir
parçası olarak zaman içerisinde kazanır. Müzik de bu değer kalıplarını şekillendirmede, mutlak bir dinlence aracı
olmanın ötesinde, etkin bir eğitim aracıdır. Müzik, bireylerin hem iç dünyalarına hem de yaşam algılarına hitap
ederek, zihinlerde ve kalplerde doğrudan ya da dolaylı bazı ahlaki ya da gayrı ahlaki duygular oluşturur ve daha
önemlisi, insan tabiatındaki yerleşik ahlaki duygu ve ilkelerin pekiştirilmesine hizmet eder. Yaşamını Türk milli
kültürüne adayan biri olarak Barış Manço, gerek sanatçı kimliği gerekse müzikal icra ve ifade biçimi ile Türk
toplumunda ve müziğinde önemli bir boşluğu doldurmuştur. Bir dönemin adam olacak çocuklarını yetiştirmiş,
yaptığı müzikler ve televizyon programları ile yediden yetmiş yediye herkese hitap etmiştir. Onun didaktik
şarkılarındaki erdemli insan modeli, önemini hiçbir zaman yitirmeyecek şarkılarında ustaca işlenmiştir. Bu
bildiride Barış Manço şarkılarının eğitsel ve öğretisel unsurları üzerinde durularak, sanatçının eserleri ile
topluma iletmek ve öğretmek istediği evrensel ahlak anlayışı incelenecektir. Çalışmanın yöntemini yazılı ve
görsel kaynaklardan elde edilen bulgular oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda sanatçının toplamda 5 adet şarkısı
incelenmiştir.
