Today, the amount of waste is significantly incresaed with the change in people’s consumption habits. “Recycler teacher: look to the future and recycle” Project, which aims to increase awareness, positive attitude and consciousness to science teachers about waste, recycling and sustainable development, is supported with the scopeof ‘TUBİTAK 4004 Nature education and science schools’. Twenty science teachers working in different provinces attended the Project conducted between 17-23 August. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of science teacher attitudes towards waste and recycling efforts. ‘Solid waste and recycling attitude scale’ was used as data collection tool. Data were analyzed with Wilcoxon signed rank test. Analysis results indicate that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. Considering the average sequence and totals of difference scores, observed sequences are fewer of post-test. It can be said that the activies implemented during the project process have a positive impact on participants attitudes solid waste and recycling.

Günümüzde insanların tüketim alışkanlıklarındaki değişimle birlikte atık miktarları önemli düzeyde artmıştır. Atık, geri dönüşüm ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma konularında fen bilimleri öğretmenlerine olumlu tutum, bilinç ve farkındalık kazandırmayı hedefleyen “İleriye Bak Geri Dönüştür: Geri dönüşümcü öğretmen” projesi TUBİTAK 4004 Doğa Eğitimi ve Bilim Okulları kapsamında desteklenmiştir. 17-23 Ağustos arasında gerçekleştirilen projeye farklı illerde görev yapan 20 fen bilimleri öğretmeni katılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, projenin fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin atık ve geri dönüşüm çalışmalarına yönelik tutumlarına etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Katı Atık Ve Geri Dönüşüme Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Veriler Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları, ön test ve son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğunu göstermektedir. Fark puanlarının sıra ortalaması ve toplamları dikkate alındığında, gözlenen bu farkın pozitif sıralar, yani son test puanı lehinde olduğu görülmektedir. Projede uygulanan etkinliklerin katılımcıların katı atık ve geri dönüşüme ilişkin tutumları üzerinde olumlu bir etkisi olduğu söylenebilir.
