Intrapreneurship is the concept used to describe the entrepreneurial orientation and activities inside existing organizations. It has been attracting a great attention of scholars and practitioners since 1980’s. In general, intrapreneurship is important element for organizational and economic development. More specifically, it is viewed that intrapreneurship has beneficial effects on revitalization of organizations and improvements of organizational performance. Therefore, intrapreneurship is essential for large corporations as well as small and medium sized enterprises. This study theoretically examines the concept of intrapreneurship and its main determinants (i.e, organizational and environmental factors) to form a conceptual framework of intrapreneurship construct. As a multidimensional structure, intrapreneurship is defined as transformation process of innovative ideas into new product, services or business by the autonomous strategic behaviors of employee that are related to departure from traditional ways of doing business in established organizations. In this study the intrapreneurship construct includes seven distinct dimensions: innovativeness, new business venturing, self-renewal, risk taking, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness and autonomy. The intra-organizational and environmental factors also were examined as the determinants of intrapreneurship structure.

için kullanılan iç girisimcilik kavramı 1980’lerden bu yana akademisyenlerin ve uygulamacıların dikkatini çekmektedir. Genel olarak, iç girisimcilik organizasyonel ve ekonomik gelismede önemli bir unsur olarak degerlendirilmektedir. Spesifik olarak da organizasyonların ve performanslarının yeniden canlanmasına ve iyilesmesine pozitif etkileri oldugu ileri sürülmektedir. Bu nedenle iç girisimcilik büyük isletmeler için oldugu kadar küçük ve orta ölçekli isletmeler için de önemli olarak degerlendirilmektedir. Bu çalısmanın amacı, kavramsal bir iç girisimcilik yapısı olusturmak için teorik olarak iç girisimcilik kavramını ve boyutlarını incelemektir. Çalısmada çok boyutlu bir yapı olarak ele alınan iç girisimcilik, mevcut (faaliyet halindeki) isletmelerde yenilikçi fikirlerin yeni ürün, hizmet ve islere dönüstürülmesi sürecinde islerin geleneksel yöntemlerden sapılarak daha özerk bireyler ve birimler tarafından yapılması olarak tanımlanmaktadır. ç girisimcilik yenilikçilik, yeni is girisimleri baslatma, kendini yenileme, hesaplı risk alma, proaktiflik, rekabetçi giriskenlik ve özerklik olmak üzere yedi farklı boyutlu bir yapı olarak ele alınmaktadır. ç girisimciligin temel belirleyicileri de çevresel ve organizasyonel faktörler olarak incelenmektedir.
