In this study, presidential and parliamentary systems are analyzed in terms of political stability and it is argued that the type of the system (presidential or parliamentary) is not the decisive factor in political stability rather it depends on deeper
factors such as consensus on the constitutional foundations, ideological polarizations, social divisions, and state of the income distribution in society.
