Küresel Finans Krizi Karşısında İslami Finans Sektörünün Mevcut Durumuna Bir Bakış

Islamic finance today is one of the fastest growing segment in the global finan-ce industry. In recent years, Islamic financial system grew and developed rapidly and today it is operating in over 50 countries. An integral part of the global finan¬cial markets, the Islamic financial institutions have been naturally affected by the global financial crisis, started in 2007 in the United States and has affected other countries and regions and became a global event. However, compared to traditi-onal precedents Islamic financial institutions were affected less by the crisis and this has brought the discussions whether the Islamic financial system can be an alternative to the current system or not. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the cur-rent position of the islamic finance sector before the global financial crisis by in-dicating the reasons leading to the global financial crisis and effects of crisis. For this purpose, the development of global islamic financial assets shall be addres-sed as per years and the impacts of the crisis on development of the islamic fi¬nancial system shall be evaluated.
