Abstract (2. Language):
Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a chronic pain syndrome that develops in approximately 10% to 15% of patients with herpes zoster, with the precise figure depending on age. Some problems may be encountered during treatment due to the advanced age and accompanying disorders. In this paper, we purpose to present a patient with diagnosis of PHN who got unconscious during hospitalization, followed with prediagnosis of viral encephalitis and cerebrovascular accident, tought as vertebrobasiler ischemic infarction according to laboratory results and died from this reason. ©2008, Firat University, Medical Faculty.
