Water cult, being members of different cultures in society is a common belief among Turks, although a common element is seen as a cult. In our study, we take water cult in Anatolia, where the pre-Islamic beliefs of the later periods of water is seen as forms of reflection. Pre-Islamic Turk beliefs, Islam with the effect of Muslims of Turkish society in the spiritual life has continued. In some cases, these beliefs have been effective with Islamic motifs. In many parts of Anatolia, depending on the cult of water fountains, fountains, rivers and lakes in the form elements are attributed to holiness. Visitors are subject to the cult of water contact with the elements, often with the water spirit of rapprochement, integration and all kinds of trouble getting help for the purpose of them is carrying.

Su kültü, farklı kültürlere mensup toplumlarda görülen bir inanıĢ olmakla beraber Türkler arasında ortak bir kült unsuru olarak görülmektedir. ÇalıĢmamızda ele aldığımız Anadolu‟da su kültü, Ġslam öncesi yer-su inanıĢlarının daha sonraki dönemlere yansıyan biçimleri olarak görülmektedir. İslam öncesi Türk inanıĢları, İslam ile beraber Müslüman Türk toplumunun manevi hayatında etkisini sürdürmüştür. Bazı durumlarda bu inanışlar İslami motiflerle etkili olmuştur. Anadolu‟nun birçok yerinde su kültüne bağlı olarak pınar, çeĢme, nehir ve göl şeklinde kutsiyet atfedilen unsurlar mevcuttur. Ziyaretçilerin su kültüne konu olan unsurlarla teması, çoğu zaman su ruhlarıyla yakınlaşma, bütünleşme ve her türlü sıkıntıları için onlardan yardım alma amaçlarını taşımaktadır.
