In this study, formation of Schiff bases formed glycine and salicylaldehyde was spectrophotometrically investigated and formation and protonation constants of this Schiff bases were potentiometrically determined in water. Potentiometric titrations were carried out at 25 o C, under nitrogen athmosphere in the media of 0.1 M potassium chloride using modified combined pH electrode. The formation and protonation constants were estimated using BEST computer program developed by Martell ve Motekaitis.

Bu çalışmada, glisinin ve salisilaldehitten oluşan Schiff bazının oluşum dengesi spektrofotometrik olarak incelenmişve bu Schiff bazının oluşum ve protonasyon sabitleri potansiyometrik titrasyon metodu ile tayin edilmiştir. Titrasyonlar 25 o C'da azot atmosferinde ve modifiye edilmişkombine cam pH elektrodu kullanılarak 0,1 M potasyum klorürlü ortamlarda yapılmıştır. Oluşum ve protonasyon sabitleri Martell ve Motekaitis tarafından geliştirilen BEST bilgisayar programıile hesaplanmıştır.
