The occurrence and compositions of the granulocytes of fish varies between groups. Primitive groups as agnathans, holocephalansand elasmobranchs have eosinophils with homogeneous round granules. Comparative study suggests that in elasmobranchs and lungfish, heterophils and different forms of eosinophils are all of those the eosinophils lineage. Usually, chondrosteans, holosteans and other elasmobranchs and lungfish contain eosinophils and neutrophils, also basophils are common on the same groups. The teleost neutrophils are an similar appearence to mammalian neutrophils. In nonmammalian vertebrates the instead of neutrophils, the granules that termed as heterophils are common, which this heterophils usually represent with fine eosinophil granules. In this paper, the occurrence and compositions of granulocytes of fish studied and compared with the granulocytes of other vertebrates and the results have been discussed.

Balık granülositlerinin oluşumu ve kompozisyonlarıgruplar arasında değişiklik gösterir. Agnathan, Holocephali ve Elasmobranchii gibi aşağıbalık gruplarıhomojen yuvarlak granüllü eozinofillere sahiptirler. Diphnoi ve Elasmobranchiide heterofil ve eozinofilin farklıformlarının karşılaştırmalıçalışılmasıonların hepsinin eozinofil soyu olduğunu destekler. Agnathan, Holocephali, Galeoidei ve Dipnoide bulunan ince granülositler, kemikli balıkların ve memelilerin nötrofilleri ile ilişkili olabilir. Chondrostei, Holostei ve bazıElasmobranchii ve Dipnoidler eozinofil ve nötrofiller yanında bazofilleri de içerirler. Kemikli balıkların nötrofilleri, memeli nötrofillerine benzer. Memeli olmayan omurgarak isimlendirilen ince granüllü eozinofillere sahiptirler. Bu çalışmada, balık granülositlerinin oluşumu ve kompozisyonlarıincelenerek, diğer omurgalıgruplarıyla karşılaştırıldıve tartışıldı.
