The aim of this study was to find out the effect of full version and edited video-cases on volleyball trainers’ game set analysis skills. Participants were 60 male volleyball trainers having Stage II and III training certificates and having experience in the league of first and second in 2006-2007 seasons. The trainers were divided into two experimental groups each consisting of 30 trainers according to their cognitive styles. Experimental groups met to watch the full version or edited video-cases which were drawing from the games of female and male Turkish national volleyball teams. The analysis activities of the participants were evaluated according to the scoring key prepared by use of the answers given by the experts. In the data analysis phase of the study, analysis of variance (ANOVA) procedures were used and Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated. Results showed that there was no significant difference between the full version and edited video-cases on the analysis skills [F(1,58)=.981, p>0.05]. This finding indicates that different type video-cases have no significant effect on the analysis skills of volleyball trainers. However, it was found that there were significant differences between field-dependent and field-independent volleyball trainers with regard to their analysis skill [F(3,56)=62.3391, p<0.05]. This finding indicates that cognitive style has an effect on the analysis skill scores.

Bu araştırma, farklı video-durum türlerinin (tam sürüm ve kurgulanmış sürüm) kullanıldığı duruma-dayalı öğretim uygulamasının voleybol antrenörlerinin voleybol oyun seti çözümleme becerisine etkisini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmaya, 2006–2007 yılında II. ve III. kademe antrenörlük belgesine sahip, birinci ve ikinci ligde voleybol antrenörlüğü yapan 60 erkek voleybol antrenörü katılmıştır. Deneysel işlem öncesi, 60 erkek voleybol antrenörüne bilişsel stillerini belirlemek amacıyla “Saklı Şekiller Grup Testi” uygulanmıştır. Altı-yedi kişilik oluşturulan gruplar bir araya gelerek videodurum türlerine göre sırasıyla kadın milli takım kazanılan set, kadın milli takım kaybedilen set, erkek milli takım kazanılan set, erkek milli takım kaybedilen set biçiminde izlemişler ve uzmanlar tarafından hazırlanan soruları yanıtlamışlardır. Daha önce uzman voleybol antrenörlerinin verdikleri yanıtlardan yararlanılarak hazırlanan bir puanlama anahtarına göre değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Video-durum türünün voleybol oyun seti çözümleme becerisine etkisini ve bu etkinin bilişsel stile göre değişip değişmediğini belirlemek için varyans analizi (ANOVA) uygulanmıştır. İstatistiksel analizlere göre, tam sürüm ve kurgulanmış sürüm video-durumları izleyen voleybol antrenörlerinin oyun seti çözümleme puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır [F(1,58)=.981, p>0.05]. Ancak, video-durum türü ile bilişsel stilin voleybol oyun seti çözümleme puanları üzerindeki ortak etkisi istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır [F(3,56)=62.3391, p<0.05].
