Although gender issues in sport has been studied extensively since 1980s, it has been studying in Turkey for 10 years. The purpose of the present study was to present a general analysis of gendered aspects of sport instutions by highlihting the need of criticizing sport by gender perspective. Besides, the second purpose of this study was to make a contribution to gender studies in Turkey. First there will be an introduction to some theoretical perspectives, then masculinity, femininity and sexuality which are important in gender and sport interaction will be discussed within the context of sport and physical eductaion.

Spor alanında toplumsal cinsiyet ilişkileri özellikle 1980`lerden sonra spor bilimleri alanında sıklıkla çalışılan konulardan birisi olmakla birlikte, ülkemiz spor bilimleri alanında yaklasık 10 yıllık bir geçmişi bulunmaktadir. Bu yazının temel amacı, spor kurumunun genel bir toplumsal cinsiyet analizini sunmaya çalışmaktır. Ayrica spor kurumunun toplumsal cinsiyet bakış acısıyla sorgulanması gerekliliğine dikkat çekerek, Türkiye’deki toplumsal cinsiyet çalışmalarına bir katkı sağlamak da amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmada toplumsal cinsiyet yaklaşımı ile spor kurumunun genel bir analizi yapılırken, spor ve toplumsal cinsiyet calışmalarında kullanılan bilimsel yaklaşımlar sunulacak ve toplumsal cinsiyet ve spor etkileşiminde belirleyici olan beden, kadınlık, erkeklik ve cinsellik konuları spor ve beden egitimi ortamında ele alınacaktır.
