Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between given plasma lactate concentrations' running velocities and 5000 m running performance. Seven male midlle and long distance runners were voluntarily participated in this study. In this sutudy, plasma lactate concentrations were determined from fingertip blood samples withdrawn between each 3 minute stage of an incremental track running test. Additionally, a 5000 m trial run was administered. 5000 m running velocity was calculated to be equal with 8.9 mM lactate running velocity. On the other hand, compared with 5000 m running time, percentages were determined to be 73.6 % for 2 mM lactate running velocity, 85.8 % for 4 mM 93.1 %for6 mM 97.8 % for 8 mM 100.1 % for 9 mM 102.5% for 100 mM 104.8 % for 11 mM, and 106.9% for 12 mM All parameters showed high correlations with 5000 m running velocities.
