Fahr's syndrome (idiopathic bilateral striopallidodentate calcification): case report

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Fahr's syndrome is characterized pathologically by massive symmetric calcification of the basal ganglia, dentate nucleus, and cerebral white matter. Although the clinical presentation may be quite variable, most patients could have either neuropsychiatry symptoms, seizures, speech difficulties, dementia, and extrapyramidal or cerebellar dysfunctions. In this paper, a 60 year old man with Fahr's syndrome is presented and the clinical, radiological, and endocrinological aspects of the disease are discussed. /.Journal of Turgut Özal Medical Center 1(4):29--300.I994J
