Abstract (2. Language):
Internal jugular vein collects blood from the skull, brain, superficial parts of the face and the neck. It is usually the largest vein in the neck. External jugular ve n largely dra ns the scalp and the face. Both ve ns unite with subclavian vein behind the medial end of the clavicle. We found out that there was an oblique anastomosis, which was 1.04 cm. in length and 2.04 mm. in diameter, between right internal and external jugular vein, during the neck dissection of a 26 years old woman's cadaver. Although the probability of anastomosis between these veins have been emphasized, the incidence and localization has not been stated.
