Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges, identified by an abnormal number of white blood cells in cerebrospinal fluid. The acute meningitis syndrome may be caused by a wide variety of infectious agents and may also be a manifestation of noninfectious diseases. Group G streptococcus is now recognized as a pathogen and has been reported to cause severe infections, including meningitis. A 34-year-old male patient having parotid gland malignant mixed tumor with brain metastasis had chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgical treatment. Group G streptococcal meningitis developed in this patient thereafter.

Menenjit, beyin omuriiik sıvısında anormal beyaz küre sayısı lle seyreden beyin zarlarının inflamasyonudur. Akut menenjit sendro-muna çeşitti infeksiyon ajanları neden olabilir. Noninfeksiyöz has-tahklar grubu da aynı tabloyu oluşturabiiir. G grubu streptokokun menenjit te dahll olmak üzere, ciddi infeksiyonlara sebep olduğu rapor edllmekte ve patojen olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu vakada; cerrahi tedavi sonrası kemoterapi ve radyoterapi almış, beyin metastazı olan, parotis maiign mikst tümörlü 34 yaşındaki erkek hastada geii-şen G grubu streptokok menenjit olgusu sunulmuştur.
