Opsonization during and after sleep deprivation. The present study was undertaken to investi-gate the effects of fourty-eight hours of sleep deprivation on opsonization which is one of the determinants of phagocytic activity. Ten young healthy male subjects were included the study. After the physical examination, subjects were recorded for one night with polysomnography (PSG) to exclude sleep pathologies. Following PSG, subjects undervvent to continuous wake-fulness under sedentary conditions. At the end of fourty-eight hours, they were allowed for re-covery sleep. Venous blood samples were collected at 0 - 24th - 48th and 72nd hours. Cortisol, IgG measurements and opsonization test was performed in blood samples by using classical method. Our results showed that 48 hours [L.Ö.ljof sleep deprivation did not lead to any alte-ration in opsonization

Bu çalışmada, 48 saat uykusuzluğun, fagositik aktiviteyi belirleyen göstergelerden biri olan opsonizasyon üzerine etkileri araştırıldı. Sağlıklı, genç erişkin 10 erkek gönüllü çalışmaya dahil edildi. Fizik muayene sonrasında, denekler, uyku bozukluğu açısından değerlendirilmek amacıyla bir gece poligrafik uyku kayıdma alındılar. Uyku tetkikini takiben 48 saat süre ile se-danter koşullarda uykusuz bırakılan denekler, yine kayıt altında telafi uykularını uyudular. 0 -24 - 48 ve 72. saatlerde venöz kan örnekleri toplandı. Alman kan örneklerinde kortizol, IgG ve klasik protokole uygun olarak opsonizasyon değerlendirildi. Sonuçlarımıza göre, 48 saat uykusuzluğun, sağlıklı insanlarda opsonizasyonda anlamlı bir değişikliğe neden olmadığı saptandı.
