in vitro susceptibility of escherichia coli strains isolated from urinary tract infections to vari-oııs antibiotics in outpatiens. In this study, susceptibilities of 115 Escherichia coli strains isolated from urinary tract infections of outpatients who referred to the Clinics of Internal Medi-cine of istanbul Medical Faculty in 2001 were investigated. The most effective antibiotics aga-inst these strains were found to be tobramycin (92.1%), nitrofurantoin (90.5%), norfloxacin (89.6%), ciprofloxacin (84%) and ofloxacin (83.63%), while lowest susceptibilities were found against ampicillin (46.7%), and co-trimoxazole (58.5%)

Bu çalışmada, 2001 yılında İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi İç Hastalıkları Polikliniğine başvuran üriner infeksiyonlu poliklinik hastalarından izole edilen 115 Escherichia coli suşunun çeşitli antibiyotiklere karşı duyarlıkları incelenmiştir. Bu suşlara karşı en etkili antibiyotikler sırasıyla tob-ramisin (%92.1), nitrofurantoin (%90.5), norfloksasin (%89.6), siprofloksasin (%84.9), oflok-sasin (%83.6) olarak tespit edilirken, en düşük duyarlık ampisilin (%46.7) ve ko-trimoksazole (%58.5) karşı bulunmuştur.
