The chartges of lef t ventricular diastolic funetion in patients with type 1 diabetes. There are some data supporting the hypothesis that abnormalitics in the lıeart and the kidney may devclop İn parallcl in patients with type 1 diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate left ventricular diastolic funetion in patients with type 1 diabetes wİthout persistant macroalbumimıria. Left ventricular diastolic funetion was assessed by echocardiography in patients with type 1 diabetes with mieroalbuminuria (MAU) (n-11, type 1 MTCRO), in patients with type 1 diabetes without MAU (n=13, type 1 NORMO) and non-diabetic healthy controls (n=14, control). Sbortcning fracfion and the peak filling velocity during the atria] phasc of left venfricule diastole (VA) were sİgnificantly high in type 1 MICRO group vs control group (p<0,05). Left ventricular fİlling, as assessed by the fiüing velocity during earty phase of left venricule diastole/ VA (VE/VA) ratİo was sİgnificantly low in type 1 MICRO group vs control group (p<0,05). With respect to eclıocardiographic findings, there was no difference betvveen type 1 MICRO group and type 1 NORMO group and between type 1 NORMO group and controls. This study gives support to the studİes supporting abnormalities in the heart and kidney may develop in parallel and emphasises for the inereased use of echocardiography in patients with type 1 diabetes.

Tip 1 diyabetli hastalarda kalp ile böbreklerde bozuklukların paralel seyredebileceğini destekleyen veriler bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı persistan makroalbuminürisi olmayan tip 1 diyabetli hastalarda diyastolik işlev bozukluklarının araştırılmasıdır. Mikroalbuminüri (MAU)'si olan tip 1 diyabetli hastalar (n=l I , tip 1 MİKRO), MAU'si olmayan tip 1 diyabetli hastalar (n=13, tip i NORMO) ve diyabeti olmayan sağlıklı kontroller (n=14, kontrol) ekokardiyografi ile değerlendirildiler. Fraksiyone kısalma ve atriyumun kasılması ile oluşan geç ventrikül doluş hızı (VA), tip 1 MİKRO grubunda kontrollere göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulundu (p<0,05). Sol ventrİkülün maksimum erken doluş hızı/VA (VE/VA) oranı ile tayin edilen sol ventrikül doluşu tip 1 MİKRO grubunda kontrollere göre anlamlı olarak daha düşük saptandı (p<0,05). Ekokardiyografi bulgularına göre tip 1 MİKRO grubu ile tip 1 NORMO grup arasında ve tip 1 NORMO grup ile kontroller arasında bir fark saptanmadı. Bu çalışma tip 1 diyabetli hastalarda kalp ve böbreklerde bozuklukların paralel seyrettiği görüşünü desteklemekte ve tip 1 diyabetli hastaların takibinde ekokardiyografinin daha sık kullanılmasının önemini vurgulamaktadır.
