Abstract (2. Language):
The alarm and action levels in owerweight and obese Turkish women. The aim of this study is (o test the hypothesis that a single measurement, waist circumfercnce, might be used to identify people at health risk both from being oveıvveight and from having a central fat distribution. We studied 2115 women with normal or pathological weight and it was found that alarm level is greater than 85 cm and action level is greater than 93 cm from a relationship between body mass index and waist circumference. These levels are greater than those in other populations. In conclusİon, women with waist circumference greater than
