Abstract (2. Language):
Wandering spleen: A case; developing splenic infarction and mistakenly diagnosed as essen-tial thrombocyihemia. 'Wanderİng Spleen' is a rare, but interesting clinical entİty that predis-poses the patient to splenic torsion and infarction. It occurs at any age. While the exact etio-logy is debatable, it likely occurs as a result of absence or laxity of splenic ligaments. Elective splenectomy or splenopexy is the treatment of choice. We report a case who developed splenic infarction and mistakenly diagnosed as essential thrombocythemia and elective splenectomy was performed.
