Abstract (2. Language):
Most dental materials permit microleakage. A crevice always exists at the freshly condensed amalgam-tooth interface that is sujiciently large Jbr microorganisms and oral fluids to pass along the cavity walls and facilitate the development of postoperative sensitivity or secondary caries. Jt has been demonstrated that preparations lined with a cavity varnish prior to amalgam insertion showed significantly reduced microleakage when compared to unlined preparations. In this paper general information about the structure of the cavity varnishes, the method and field of using them is given.
