Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of HBO on the problems in wound healing seen following chemotherapy in oral region. In our previous study, it was shown thai HBO didn 't have any effect on normal tissue healing except early healing period. During this study, 28 male rats were injected intraperitoneally 60 mg/kg 5-Fîuorouracil three times every five days. On the 13ih day, mandibular 1st and 2nd molar teeth were extracted under ether anaesthesia. The rats in the experimental group were exposed to hyperbaric oxygenation at 2.5 ATA twice a day. The control group didn't receive any treatment. Three rats from each group were sacrificed on 7th, 14th, 21th and 28th days and histo-paüıologic examination were performed. According to the results, there was not a difference in tooth extraction healing between HBO and control groups. This might be due to die chemoterapic drug and chemotherapy protocol we used.
