Complications involving the oral mucosa occur in patients receıvitıg chemotherapy for leukemia. Oral complications of chemotherapy include mucositis, infection, hemorrhage, xerostomia, neurologic disorders and nutritional disorders. Our case was diagnosed as chronic myeloid leukemia and was treated with hydroxyurea and interpheron. He has had recurrent aphthous ulcers in his oral mucosa for die lest two years. The aim of this report is to discuss what the dentist can do to prevent the oral complications in patients receiving chemotherapy.

Lösemi tedavisi için kemoterapi alan hastalarda oral mukoza komplikasyonlan görülebilir. Kemoterapinin oral komplikasyonları mukozit, infeksiyon, kanama, kserostomi, nörolojik bozukluklar ve beslenme bozukluklarıdır. Olgumuz 4 yıl önce kronik myeloid lösemi tanısı konulan, hydroxyurea ve interferon tedavisi gören, iki yıldır ağız mukozasında rekürrent aftöz ülser¬ler görülen hastadır. Amacımız kemoterapi alan hastalarda oral komplikasyonlarm önlenmesi için dİshekim-lerinin neler yapabileceğini tartışmaktadır.
