Abstract (2. Language): 
In this study, Büyük Doğu, a well-known opposition magazine, was analyzed in the context of the modernisation process of Turkey. The study focused to the period of 1943 and 1951. This period has an important pface in the Turkish political history. In this period, transition to democracy was taking place. According to the author, Büyük Doğu magazine was an important opponent in this modernisation process of the country. The author tried to show tn this paper how this opposition was realized in Büyük Doğu's editorials and news items.
