Abstract (2. Language):
Right after the May 27 Revolution, governmental institutions have published a number of booklets that explain the reasons behind May 27 events. Even though these cannot be called official views of the government, since governmental bodies have published them, it is strongly possible that the revolutionary staff directly or indirectly previewed them. In these booklets, reasons of the revolution, the events that led to May 27 and the motives that prompted the Army to act on behalf of the Turkish nation have been revealed.
The conclusion can be summarised as the Army has used its responsiveness to the demands of the nation and that it has acted as a result of this responsiveness in justifying the intervention as its main argument. The demands are justified but the actions to be taken must be left to the Army. The revolution, as in the Independence War, could be successfully organised only by the Army, which 'has been born into the
