Radio, while being a medium that speeds up the process of information gathering of the society, improves the level of consciousness and educates the masses, also creates an environment for relaxation. Naturally, other mass communication tools have the same power as the radio. However, due to its characteristics of broadcast and use, radio is a medium with a high potential of communication, reaching a larger audience than other media. Its relations with its audience is also different from other media. It can meet with its audience at the street, at home, in the car, in the fields, at the factory, shortly, almost everywhere. This superiority of the radio is, of course, reflected to its functions. This paper aims to reveal the radio-listening habits of the audience, their expectations and which basic functions of the radio are the most important.
