Abstract (2. Language):
This study investigat.es the relationship between energy intensily and polluüon intensityfor the sub-sectors of the Turkish manufacturing industry. First, an index for pollution intensily that includes pollutants in air, water and land is created. Second, the change in pollution is decomposed into composition and scale effects. After a discussion of the role and importance of energy intensily in affecting pollution levels, the relationship between energy intensily and pollution intensily is analyzed using informalion on the Turkish manufacturing industry between 1995 and 2000.
