Abstract (2. Language):
The Taylor Rule, which recently gained great popularity, argues the adjustment of interest rates to the income and inflation level of the economy. Studies on this subject show that the movements of interest rates are as if regular even The Central Bank does not constitute a policy target. This study examines how regular the interest rates moved in Turkey between the periods 1998:01 and 2003:03. The significiant emprical relationship between interest rates and inflation and the nominal foreign exchange rate constitutes one of the conclusions reached. This evidence indicates that the movements of interest rates in Turkey are as if regular as they are in many cases in the world.
