Çıkarılmış embiriyo metodu, çimlenme engeli olan bir çok tohumlarda, takribi çimlenme yüzdesini tesbit için, tohum analistlerinin hini hacette kullanmak üzere bilmesi icabeden, vakit kazandırıcı, sıhhatli ve halen tekamül etmekte olan bir metotdur. Önceden soğuk - ıslak ön işleme tabi tutulmak suretiyle ve normal çimlendirme usulleriyle çimlenmesi bir kaç haftadan bir kaç aya kadar vakit isteyen tohumların, bu metodla çimlenme kabiliyetinin, ekim değerinin 2 ilâ 15 gün içinde, bazen daha da çabuk ortaya çıkarılması mümkündür. Bu makalede metodun tarihçesi ve muhtelif kimseler tarafından kullanılışı, tohum hayatiyetini Ölçmede diğer metotlara kıyasla nisbi değeri, önemi, metodun muaffakiyetle uygulanabildiği türler, tekniğin uygulanış şekline ait bazı genel hususlar, mühtelif tohumlarda embiri-yonun büyümesini gösteren bazı fotoğraflar ve nihayet konu üzerinde çalışmış muhtelif araştırıcıların metot hakkında detaylı bilgi ihtiva eden belli başlı makale ve eserlerinin tam listesi verilmiştir.
