Professor Erol GÖKSEL was born in 1943 in Mudanya. After completing his primary and high school education, in 1970 he was graduated from University of Istanbul, Faculty of Forestry. He became Associate Professor in 1987 and Professor in 1994. The biography and publications of Mr. Göksel, who retired in August 1998, are given here.

Erol GÖKSEL 1943 yılında Mudanya'da dünyaya gelmiştir. İlk, Orta ve Lise öğrenimini Bursa'da bitirdikten sonra 1970 yılında üniversiteden mezun olmuştur. Bu yazıda 17.08.1998 tarihinde emekliye ayrılan Prof. Dr. Erol GÖKSEL'in özgeçmişi ve bilimsel yayınları verilmiştir.

m in Mudanya, Turkey in 1943, completed primary and high school education in Bursa. After his military service (1962 - 1964) he studied at the Faculty of Forestry. University of Istanbul and graduated in 1970.
He was appointed to the Department of Forest Products Chemistry and Technology in 1970. In 1979 he completed his doctorate thesis entitled "Fiber Morphology and Sulphate Pulping of Pinus brutia Ten." and was awarded with the title "Doctor of Forestry Science". He made a research in London at The Tropical Products Laboratory and The Research Association for Paper and Board "PIRA" (1979-80). Prof.Dr. Erol Göksel had been lecturing on Forest Products Chemistry and Fibreboard Technology at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Istanbul. He became Associate Professor in 1987 and Professor in 1994.
Prof.Dr. Erol Göksel, after a long service, retired in August 1998.
