Abstract (2. Language):
The story “Duktûr al-qaryah” is written by Iraqi author
Shâkir Khasbâk, who is one of the important names in Iraq’s Arabic
literature. The story was first published in Shâkir Khasbâk’s first story
collection, Sirâ’ (Cairo 1948), in which romanticism is more dominant
than realism. This story is about one of the many social wounds of the
period. The price paid by a girl who is about to die for the fatal error of
the doctor, inconvenient roads and insufficiency of health services are
important issues in this story. In this essay, first, we present an
information about the author, then the translation of the story and a short
analysis of the story.

“Köyün Doktoru” adlı öykü, Irak Arap edebiyatında çok önemli bir
yeri olan Şâkir Hasbâk tarafından kaleme alınmıştır. Bu öykü ilk olarak
Şâkir Hasbâk’ın realizmden çok romantizmin hâkim olduğu ilk öykü
koleksiyonu Sırâ’ (Kahire 1948)’da yayımlanmıştır. Bu öykü dönemin
sosyal yaralarından biri hakkındadır. Bu öyküde, ölmek üzere olan genç
bir kız, doktorun kadercilik hatasının bedelini öder. Elverişsiz yollar ve
yetersiz sağlık hizmetleri bu öyküdeki önemli konulardır. Bu yazıda önce
yazar ve eserleri hakkında kısa bilgiler verilmiş, daha sonra da öykünün
çevirisi ile kısaca tahlili sunulmuştur.
