SIĞACIK KÖRFEZİ (EGE DENİZİ)’NDE DAĞILIM GÖSTEREN KADİFE KÖPEK BALIĞI Etmopterus spinax (Linnaeus, 1758)’NIN BOY-AĞIRLIK İLİSKİSİ

LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP OF VELVET BELLY LANTERN SHARK Etmopterus spinax (Linnaeus, 1758) IN SIGACIK BAY (AEGEAN SEA)

Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, L-W relationships of velvet belly lantern shark specimens were investigated caught via commercial deep-trawl vessels during the period from August 2003 to March 2004 from Sigacik Bay (Southern Aegean Sea). A total of 116 specimens were caught between 200-600 meters. 53.4% of the population was determined as female and 46.6% was male. Minimal, maximal and mean total lengths were established as 10.5, 20.5 and 13.9 cm for females, and 10.2, 18.9 and 14.5 cm for males, respectively. Minimal, maximal and mean total weights were established as 4.6, 36.5 and 12.5 g for females, and 4.4, 30.1 and 14.1 g for males, respectively. Length-Weight relationships for females, males and both sexes were calculated as W=0.0031*L3.13 (r2= 0.96), W=0.0029*L3.15 (r2= 0.95), and W=0.0031*L3.12 (r2= 0.95), respectively.
