The relations between the Turks and Hungarians dating back to very old times started to strengthen during the late periods of Otoman Empire and especially in Atatürk era. With the approval of the right for foreign specialists to work in Turkey, many Hungarian specialists came to Turkey while the Turkish Republic was being founded, and they contributed to reconstruction efforts in every field of life. We can see the impacts of Hungarian specialists on the emergence of new construction types in Muğla. In this study , within the context of Turkish and Hungarian relations, the effects of the Hungarian specialists having contributions to the reconstruction of Turkey were investigated with regards to Muğla and its surroundings.

Çok eski dönemlere dayanan Türk ve Macar ilişkileri, Osmanlı İmparatorluğunun son dönemlerinden başlayarak Atatürk dönemiyle birlikte iyice güçlenmiştir. Cumhuriyetin kuruluş yıllarında Türkiye'de yabancı uzmanlara çalışma imkanının tanınmasıyla, Macaristan'dan pek çok uzman gelmiş ve her alandaki yeniden yapılanmaya katkıda bulunmuşlardır. Muğla ve çevresinde de yeni yapı tarzlarının ortaya çıkmasında Macar uzmanların etkisi görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türk ve Macar ilişkileri çerçevesinde Muğla ve çevresinde Macar uzmanların etkisi incelenmiştir.
