Doğu Akdeniz'deki en son jeofiziksel sonuçlar kıaaea gölden geçirilmiş ve tartışılmıştır, Levanten Denizinden ayn olarak (sonuçlar lıenüı yeterli değildir) gravite anomalileri Mpm kıvrımlı alanın güneyinde geniş ve düzgündür (Afrika karakteri). Manyetik alan lineas* yonların ve herhangi diğer manyetik anomalilerin bulunmadığmı belirler. Derin yansıma Sismiği, Alpin dağoluşu yaylarının ön kımmiarıyia ilgili alanlar için sıkışma karakterlerini ve bindirmeleri apkïar* Doğu Akdemdin geri kalan kısmı Afrikaçökel dizisinin platform tipindeki devamıdır. Burası faylıdır ve en amndan Üst Kretase'den başlayan çok kaim bir çöke! sıralanımıdır* Bu sökellerin iğinde hemen her yerde bulunan ve yer yer çok büyük kalmlıklam ulaşan üst miyosen evaporitleri yer alır. Bu çökel düzeylerinin derinlik kalınlıkları genellikle kuleye do^u artar. Çok kaim bir §ökel dizisinin bulunması, her yerde gözlenen çok düşük ısı akısı değerleriyle hem de bir granit düzeyinin olasılı varlığını ve 26-27 knUik bir (minimum) kabuk kalınlığını belirleyen çok BM) derin kırılma sismiği sonuçlarıyla kamtlanmaktadır. IDofııAkdOTİıfin tüm kuzey sının, Tersiyer Alpin dağ oluşu şırasmda yoğun bir biçim değiştirmeye (krmmlanma, faylanmave bindirme) ve daha sonra da yayılma ve dalmaya uğratılmıştır. Doğu Akdeniz'in geri kalan kısmı ise tektonik olarak, dağoluşu sonrası evrede ve daha ilk olarak da zamanımızda, başhea yarı eklem ve yarı boylam derin çizgtoellikieri şeklinde dalma ve f aydaianmaiarla karakterkedk. Kuzey kısmı yakm zamanda önce sıkışma hareketlerine sonra da güneye doğru bindirmelere uğramış olan bu alan Afrika kratonunun dalan kenar zonununun temsilcisidir.
