The tomato leafminer, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) has entered in Turkey in 2009, included in the quarantine pest list, and spread very fast in nearly all of regions of the country. Tomato plants may be attacked at any developmental stage from seedlings to mature plants in greenhouses and in open fields. T. absoluta reduces tomato yield and fruit quality, causing up to 100% yield losses. Larvae of T. absoluta protected in mines and galleries, so effective control is difficult to achieve because of its biology, low efficacy of chemicals and resistance phenomenon. Therefore, alternative control methods such as biological control have been developed in many countries. Several species of parasitoids and predators have been evaluated as biological control agents such as Trichogramma species and Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) and Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur). The review has been contained important informations based on the biological control of the pest.

Domates güvesi, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae), Türkiye'ye 2009 yılında giriş yapmış olup, karantina zararlı listesine dâhildir. Ülkenin hemen hemen tüm bölgelerine çok hızlı bir şekilde yayılmıştır. Sera ve açık alandaki domates bitkileri fide döneminden hasat sonuna kadarki tüm gelişme döneminde zarara uğrayabilir. T. absoluta domates meyve verim ve kalitesini düşürmekte, % 100’e ulaşan oranda verim kayıplarına neden olmaktadır. T. absoluta larvaları biyolojileri gereği açtıkları tünel ve galerilerde korunaklı olduklarından kimyasal ilaçların etkisi düşüktür ve ilaca karşı direnç oluşturmaları nedeniyle de etkin bir mücadele yapmak güçtür. Bu nedenle, birçok ülkede biyolojik mücadele gibi alternatif yöntemler geliştirilmiştir. Trichogramma türleri ve Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) ve Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur) gibi birkaç parazitoit ve predatör türleri biyolojik mücadele etmenleri olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Derleme, zararlının biyolojik mücadelesine esas önemli bilgileri içermektedir.
