Abstract (2. Language):
Increased fishery products consumption can reduce health problems such as cardiac diseases and cancer.
Using data from TUIK’s 2003 and 2009 Budget Survey Data by households, this study examines the households’
fishery product consumption patterns in Turkey. According to results, while average per capita of annual
consumptions of fishery products was 3 kg in 2003, it increased to 3.5 kg in 2009.The most consumed fish species
are anchovy, bonito, blue fin, sardine, carp and trout. The share of fishery product on total food consumption
expenditure in 2003 and 2009 were found to be %1.2 and %1.4, respectively. As income increases, fishery
consumption is increases too. For example, while average per capita of annual consumptions of fishery products in
the lowest income group in 2009 was 2.0 kg, it was found to be 4.7 kg in the highest income group. It was
determined that income, regional differences, the head of household’s education and working status and mother’s

ürünleri tüketimi 2003 yılında 3.0 kg iken 2009 yılında 3,5 kg’a yükselmiştir.
